Kate Lee

My name is Kate Lee. Inspired by the concept of contrast, I based my art on the common contrast within our society. Contrast exists not only in my experiences but also in societal beliefs and standards. Generational and cultural differences are very much a part of society, and thus expressed in my art.

For me, art is a medium for transferring my thoughts and making them alive. Because it is an expression of my direct thoughts and feelings, my art is more realistic and enables the audience to feel my emotions through the various art pieces. While expressions are a part of daily life, the ways one may express themselves vary. I choose to express myself through the simple beauty of pencils and paints. My work is honest and provokes a certain part of society. My visions and perspective of life truly motivate and inspire my art.
