Medium- Water-soluble oil paint, Plexiglass

As a Korean American and a child of immigrants, my story revolves around this particular background and identity. Watching my parents overcome language barriers and racial stereotypes in pursuit of the American dream allowed me to replicate their diligence in my life today. Even while assimilating to the American culture, my parents remembered their roots and honored our Korean culture. I would not be living the life I have today if it weren't for my parent's countless sacrifices. So, this piece serves as a token of gratitude to my parents, to honor their lives and perseverance. I also captured this painting amongst different areas to further apply importance to the transparent acrylic board I used as my canvas.
